Fae Harper 5’2” tall Fae Harper and her porcelain dolls are proof that good things come in small packages. The diminutive dollmaker possesses gigantic talent and zest for the craft she has perfected for over ten years. Fae began experimenting with dollmaking in her own ceramics shop in 1980 and has rarely spent a day since without pouring, firing, cleaning, assembling or painting the finishing touches on her dolls. Yet, she has also managed to raise a fine family and to help her husband grow a successful auto parts business in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Today, Fae produces thousands of dolls a year for doll shops all over the world. In spite of a demanding production schedule she still finds time for designing new dolls like the original Indian Elders Collection. There have been many rewards for her hard work but the artist derives the most satisfaction from the response her life-like dolls elicit from pleased customers. Pausing from the fast pace of a busy day she fondly recalls a letter or phone call from someone who knows the joy of owning one of Fae's Delights. |
