Jules A. Bouillet An exquisite collection from the original Awoodcarvings of Jules A. Boufflet. Each decoy is individually hand-cast in an artwood medium especially chosen to reveal the intricate detail of Bouillet's basswood originals. Each decoy in this collection is tediously hand-painted in the species' unique color pattern to give them a soft, feather-like appearance and feel. The bottoms are completed with felt and are individually signed by BouiUet in limited editions. As a full-time wildlife artist, Jules A. BouiUet continues a long family tradition of woodworking that extends back into the old European world of Belgium. He has been carving decorative decoys for over twenty years and is known worldwide for his life-size woodcarvings of birds of prey, waterfowl and upland game birds. He captures the beauty and realism of each species through his graceful carvings. His works have brought him many Best of Shows and People's Choice awards at national wildlife art shows throughout his career. Bouillet's works have been exhibited at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson "Birds in Art" Show in Wausau, Wisconsin, the Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland, the Wild Wings Fall Festival, the Smithsonian Institute, the National Geographic Society Hall, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Ward Foundation in Salisbury, Maryland, The Royal Academy in Edinburgh, Scotland and the British Museum in London. |
