Mary Pearson Mary (Rhoades) Pearson was born at Rehobeth Mission in Gallup, New Mexico in 1953. The experience of growing up along Route 66 with the Navajo Indians greatly influenced her artwork of today. Mary began making her dolls in 1989 as a hobby; now it is her life. Mary's self taught skills are reflected in her work which is signed and dated along with a heart to let you know that a part of her is in each creation. Thanks to her unique original clothes designs, in only the finest of leathers and her attention to detail, she has won a multitude of awards at local, regional, and national competitions. In addition to selling her limited edition dolls through some of the finest galleries and shops in the Southwest, Mary also teaches classes through the local college to promote her love of the art. While not cleaning or painting dolls, Mary (who continues to reside in New Mexico) enjoys her family (including 2 grandchildren), carpentry, raising birds, fishing, and the great outdoors. |
